Orlando J Lewis is officially crowned as "Sweet Skillz Champion 2009 @ EAC Sweetpatch TV
We have an exclusive interview with the man of the moment!
Despite a close contest throughout the voting, with strong competition from Kantcho Doskov and Fabio Rimoldini, Orlando held out to be comfortable winner. His award winning tricks can be seen here at YouTube
Q: How does it feel to be crowned "Sweet Skillz Champion"?
A: It is of course what dreams are made of! Ever since I was young I have been dreaming of this day, and I'm delighted to be given champion status! I would like to thank all the fans out there that voted for me and made this day so special.
Q: What will you do now you are Champion?
A: Play more FIFA.
Q: Did you expect to win?
A: The competition especially from the likes of Kantcho [Doskov] was always a worry, but fortunately I think the variety and overall performance in my skill set was enough to pull me through.
Q: What did you make of other entrants, such as David Rutter's effort?
A: There were some interesting efforts, which aimed to provide an almost 'simplicity is best' type approach. A shame that votes didn't go their way for artistic flair, but we live in such a fickle society these days!
Q: Will you aim to try and retain your title for next time?
A: Of course, as a professional "Sweet Skillz" player, I am keen to demonstrate that 2009 was not just a lucky year. I need to take a few days off and celebrate now, but then straight back to the drawing board and training for next year.
Q: And finally... What relevance does this all have to FIFA 10?
A: None. Although you never know, it could act as a great new idea to introduce a new pure skills game mode perhaps!
Stay tuned to fifainformer.com in the coming weeks for some more exclusive interviews and news regarding FIFA 10. Our thanks to David Witts and the team at SweetPatch.tv for the 'Sweet Skillz Competition'.
